Wow, what a year. From massive sell-offs, implosions of projects like Terra, bankruptcy filings from companies like Celsius, to the downfall of FTX, the community has been through a lot.
We thought we’d end the year with a bit of fun. Our gift to the web3 community.
🎅🏽 Announcing the launch of Santa.fm - the NFT Gift Exchange.
What is it?
Santa.fm is a decentralized NFT gift exchange game. Deposit an NFT into the pool, come back on Christmas morning to open a new random NFT.
It runs on the Santa Protocol, a decentralized peer-to-pool protocol for randomly-distributed NFT gift exchanges. You might even call it a Gift DEXchange. We won’t, but you might.
To give it some level of quality and prevent spam, the gift pool only accepts NFTs from verified collections on OpenSea.
We’ve seeded the pool with several NFTs from top projects including ArtBlocks, Creature World, Crypto Coven, SupDucks, and more. And each day leading up to Christmas, we’ll add more!
How does it work?
Deposit an NFT
The pool accepts any NFT from a verified collection on OpenSea.Receive a wrapped present NFT
This will be used to claim a random NFT from the pool on December 25th.Unwrap on December 25th
Come back on Christmas morning to “unwrap” your present and claim a random NFT from the pool.
What’s under the hood?
Sure, this is all for fun, but we’re using some really cool tech.
We’ve used Chainlink’s Verifiable Random Function (VRF) on Ethereum mainnet to shuffle the pool of NFT gifts. Before the chainlink randomization, the gifts’ token IDs are tied directly to the same gifts in the array, we then shuffle the array so each present redeems a different NFT. This is going to create a more exciting and transparent user experience, so you’re in for a surprise, on Christmas day, when your gift NFTs are revealed.
The Santa.fm smart contract will only accept the random number input if it has a valid cryptographic proof, and the cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof. This provides you with automated and verifiable assurances directly on-chain that the NFT gift randomization is provably fair and was not tampered with by the oracle, outside entities, or our VenturePunk team.

Last day to deposit NFTs: December 24, 2022 at 10pm PST
Claiming begins: December 25, 2022 at 6am PST
