[VenturePunk #7] Rethinking Community Design to Build Better Communities

By Mashal Waqar About the Author: COO @VenturePunk and DAOing with seed club and RADAR. She's a writer by passion, security techie by education, and media entrepreneur by experience. I grew up in an expat community, at a time when community meant the people around me. Most of us connected because of physical proximity and the feeling of being "othered", and we formed connections as we tried to find "home". Home: a complicated relation for most third-culture kids (TCKs)- i.e. children who spend their formative years in places that aren't their parents' homeland. But here's the thing - if you've grown up having spent a big chunk of your life online, the way you connect with and find your people is different. It's only natural that the way we think of community has evolved and changed over time.
